It could be lovely. Great spot by the river and many, many trails (covered in trash). Trails are a bit rough due to horses. But we're always happy to share the woods with riders.
Trails in the woods are not well defined and treacherous. The trail as long the river is well defined but still a little challenging to hike.
It may be part of a state forest but it doesn't seem to be maintained like it. Trash everywhere. Campfires everywhere, also filled with trash (and cheap booze bottles). First thing we saw were two mattresses laying off the side of the trail. We visited because we read it was supposedly "haunted". My 7 year old gave the most appropriate description, "eww. this place is haunted, haunted by grossness."
